Planning a Staycation During Covid? Here Are Our Staycation Top Tips for a Relaxing Holiday

There’s nothing better than getting away for a few days or weeks. Unfortunately, over the last couple of months, many of us have been trapped at home or at least severely restricted where we can go. With more people staying in the UK for their holiday we though we’d write an article offering staycation top tips.

The staycation has certainly made a comeback for families and others looking for a bit of rest and recreation as things begin to reopen. But how do you keep your holiday fun and still ensure everyone is safe and secure during Covid?

Staycation top tips – Turn Off the Tech

One of the big things that affect any holiday is the tech and those little smartphones we carry around us. Whether it’s the kids fighting over the latest video game or movie or trying to keep up with friends on Facebook, they seem to take up so much of our time.

Having a great staycation means being able to switch everything off – texts, phone calls and social media can all make us feel less relaxed, especially when work is involved.

We suggest only using your smartphones at specific times and getting back to nature in the meantime. That way you can keep up with any Covid updates in your area and check in with work if you need to. The rest of the time is all yours.

Staycation top tips – Pick the Right Location

Choosing location for staycation

There’s so much to choose from when it comes to the UK that it can be a little challenging, to say the least. Should you head to surfer-friendly Cornwall, pop up to the Scottish Highlands, visit the New Forest or visit Snowdonia in Wales?

Pick an area that suits your personality and your interests, whether you have kids in tow, are a young couple or someone who loves to go trekking or cycling on their own.

More and more people are now looking at static caravans for sale and holiday lodges because they offer a great base from which to explore the local amenities. Choosing a central location with lots of amenities around can make a big difference and give you many more options.

Check Out the Local Amenities

When choosing where you want to go, local amenities are all important. If you have children or grandchildren, for example, you’ll need to look where you can entertain them.

Some locations like pubs and restaurants may well have restrictions because of Covid and the last thing you want is to find a spot where there’s nothing much happening.

Visit Off Peak

One of the big concerns with Covid is that there can be a lot of people about and an increased risk of catching the virus. If you’re in a vulnerable group, you may want to consider going on your staycation during off-peak seasons. Places like Scotland and Cornwall, for example, are stunning during the Autumn.

Holiday Lodges Are Perfect for a Staycation

This is one of our staycation top tips! While booking into a hotel can be convenient, holiday lodges and static caravans provide you with more flexibility when it comes to organising yourselves. The great news is that there’s a lot to choose from and the quality is amazing, giving you a comfortable home from home that you can easily settle into.

If you prefer to stay as self-isolated as possible, a static caravan or holiday lodge is the perfect choice because it gives you more control than, say, a hotel or B&B.

Where to Find Holiday Lodges and Static Caravans for Sale

The good thing is there are plenty of great offers on static caravans for sale and holiday lodges with excellent value for money around at the moment. If you are searching for this type of accommodation for your staycation, visit Parklink today to find out more.
